High and Dry After Flood Damage

Repairing the damage done to your home after a flood can look like an overwhelming job. In most cases, it’s best to seek out the services of a professional flood damage restoration team. But when my home flooded a few years ago, I found out that there were some things that I could do myself. Books, clothes, and even furniture can recover from water damage under the right circumstances. Knowing how to prevent mold, and remove it when you find it, can also come in handy after a flood. I know that it can be a devastating event for a family. That’s why I started this blog – to share my experience with flood damage and share the things that I learned that helped me put my home back together. With both professional help, and amateur ideas, hopefully you can learn something useful from my experience.

3 Things That You'll Need For A Pallet Rack Permit

Construction & Contractors Blog

If you are planning on installing pallet racking in your warehouse or other commercial or industrial property, you may be required to get a permit. Of course, whether or not this is necessary and the permit process itself will depend on where you operate your business and what the laws are in your area. These are some of the things that you may be required to have when you apply for your permit, such as:

1. A Floor Plan of Your Warehouse

First of all, when installing pallet racking within your place of business, the person who is going to be approving your permit is probably going to want to get an idea of what your warehouse looks like and how you intend to set up your pallet racking. Therefore, you will need to draw out a sketch of your warehouse and the planned placement of your pallet racking. Generally, this drawing can be sketched out by hand if you would prefer, or you can use computer software to do it.

2. Information About the Type of Pallet Racking That You Are Installing

As you might already know, there are different types of pallet racking on the market. For example, you could choose between metal pallet racking, wooden pallet racking or even plastic pallet racking. You might be required to notate the material that your pallet racking is going to be made from when you submit your permit application. This is true for a few reasons, including the fact that some materials can be more prone to fires than others.

3. Measurements for Your Pallet Racking

Along with providing information about the pallet racking's material, you will also generally need to submit information about the measurements of your pallet racking. This can help the person who is approving your permit to determine how the pallet racking will fit when it's put into your warehouse and how much space will be left after it's installed.

As you can see, there are a few things that you will need if you would like to get your pallet rack permit approved. When applying for your permit, it's important to provide all of the necessary information the first time around; then, you can avoid a slowdown of the process. Additionally, you'll want to submit your permit well in advance if at all possible. This can help you ensure that you get your permit in time so that there is no delay in having your pallet racking installed.
